I tried out some Diatomaceous Earth to see how it worked for cracked ground. I got mine at Menards rather than Amazon since it was a last-minute thought and the store is nearby. Seems to work fairly well and is extremely inexpensive compared to commercial game-related crackle compounds. The 'gourds' are 3d prints from Modiphius. They are kind of intended for basing bits and don't blend in overly well with the ground around it, but figured this test piece could still serve as a nice little garden for some settlers to defend.
