And with Ciri complete, that wraps up the Witcher: Old World miniature painting. The sculpt was a little disappointing given it is a Kickstarter Exclusive and having seen the new very dynamic Witcher: Path of Destiny sculpt of Ciri. I think Ciri was a last-minute add-on by GoOnBoard due to the popular demand of the crowdfunding members and it got pressed for time. In any case, it doesn't look bad even though some of the outfit and bits were a bit low on definition/detail.

The Witcher: Old World - Ciri
I start with a clean pallet for each miniature (with a few exceptions such as Wild Hunt hounds) and keep them to be able to verify that the oils have cured as well as a neat memento of how the miniature was painted. Here are the first and last pallets of the Witcher: Old World minis. Looks like it took me 4 months and 9 days calendar time to get them all painted. I took a few breaks throughout that time period, but remained fairly consistent in pace throughout.
I'm happy to have them done and it is pretty neat seeing the entire game completely painted up. Without switching over to oil paints, I certainly would have been burned out after finishing Zombicide: Invader and likely would never have started this endeavor. If I had somehow finished these with acrylics, I certainly wouldn't have already started the next painting project. It took less time, effort, and frustration for me to achieve similar or better results. If you are curious about how the oils can revolutionize your painting experience, please check out James Wappel's YouTube or Twitch streams!

Witcher: Old World - Golem
The Golem was fun to do using some of the OSL techniques I learned from James Wappel. I purchased some fluorescent pigments with which to make some oil paints, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out using just the regular oil paints. Plenty of 'glow' effect when put in the dark context of the stone.

The Witcher: Old World - Gekhira
This is a neat, yet a bit creepy, miniature. While I admit that I may have overused the Epic Basing mushrooms over the course of basing the Witcher series of miniatures, they add a particularly welcome splash of color to this one as well as go well with the necromancer theme.
